APPROACH
Most current training material offers one of two flavors. A more direct educational style in which the content of the video and/or the commentary track is providing the educational content. The other is where an actual completed wedding DVD is offered. Allowing others to see EXACTLY what a client gets on their DVD verbatim.
GmElliott Training Volume 1 offers both. Not only does it have educational content by way of commentary and Information HUD but it also offers the ability to interact with the menus and view the video exactly the way the client received it.
LENS & SUPPORT INFO
GmElliott Training Volume 1 also includes two Information HUDs via your DVD remote’s “subtitle” button.
The first is Lens & Support Info. What this does is give you a heads up display in your upper left corner that displays the particular lens attachment and support method utilized for any particular shot.
If you see a shot you like you can simply toggle on the Lens & Support Information HUD and see what lens attachment was used (standard, .55x, .3x) and what method of support was used (Handheld, Tripod, Monopod, Glidecam).
INTERVIEW QUESTIONS
The other Information HUD is Interview Questions. The Interview Questions HUD lists the original questions which were posed to the client then subsequently used as voice-overs to narrate the video
It will illustrate how I use the particular questions to evoke responses from the client to tell the story and amplify the emotional impact of the video.

COMMENTARY
There is running commentary thought the disc which is accessed via the “audio” button on your DVD remote. You can toggle it on/off at any time.
In the commentary I will give you insight into the production of this wedding event. I also discuss the methods in which I employ the interview voice-overs to aid in the storytelling and to add additional emotional value to the video.
Lastly I also discuss various concepts ranging from shooting to post-production including shot selection, pacing, utilization of multiple cameras & angles, and much more.
